Capturing LOTUS: A Story of Style, Art, and Connection.

Sometimes, as a photographer, you come across someone whose style and energy feel like the perfect match for your vision. That’s exactly how I felt when I discovered Lotus. I found her Instagram profile through a few mutual friends in the photography world here in Sydney, and right away, her unique aesthetic drew me in. Her look was both bold and effortless, with an incredible collection of tattoos that added so much personality to her images. From the start, I knew I wanted to work with her and create something unforgettable and fun.

I began brainstorming, pulling ideas from my existing mood boards but refining them to fit Lotus’s style even more closely. I wanted a concept that would highlight her asthetic in a way that felt true to her and her art, something that would elevate her unique presence while blending with my own creative style. It took some time to get it just right, but when we finally set a date for the shoot, everything clicked.

The day of the session was exactly what I’d hoped for: a mix of great vibes, mutual respect, and creativity. In every session, I strive to create an environment where my clients and models feel comfortable, energized, and engaged—it’s all about giving them an experience they’ll remember.

Lotus was no exception, and the energy she brought to the shoot was incredible.

Most of our shots were captured on the Leica Q3 43 and the Leica SL2, paired with a 24-90mm lens that really brought out the details in her tattoos and overall look. Together, we created images that felt authentic to who she is and reflective of the vision I had in mind from the beginning.

By the end of the session, it felt like more than just a collaboration. We’d connected on a personal level, and I’m happy to now call Lotus a friend. Our time together wasn’t just about taking great photos—it was about the shared experience and the joy of creating something meaningful.
